DESIGN & CULTURE

A reason
for every relation.

Original Proposition

“Supported, never enclosed.” STILLFRAME 27 considers the boundary between gentle protection and freedom of movement. Its early design narrative also drew on domestic memories of handling and caring for cloth—a human experience, not a claim of direct descent from a historic bed type.

Form & Material

Two rounded, light-toned matte timber shoulders frame a continuous, softly dipping upholstered backrest. Muted blue-green/grey plain-weave textile defines the central contact zone and the substantial low bed surround. The timber establishes a boundary; the upholstery offers softness without turning the bed into a closed shell.

Design Intent

The memorable gesture is the restraint between two timber shoulders, not an oversized wooden enclosure. The sealed visual direction removes broad decorative embossing and uses fabric structure rather than printed ornament to express touch.

Production & imagery

DF confirmed production and acceptance of the approved design on 23 October 2026. Images shown are design visualisations, not photographs of the finished manufactured product.
