Cultural Origin
JOINED EARTH 27 brings together two independently documented textile traditions: Korean jogakbo patchwork and Ewe narrow-strip weaving from Ghana. Jogakbo reassembles remnants of cloth into a larger field, while Ewe weaving joins narrow woven lengths into a complete textile. The connection is the act of joining—not the borrowing of cultural motifs.
Form & Craft
The bed combines a generous, low, fully upholstered surround with a softly enclosing curved headboard. Large, purposeful textile panels continue from the headboard to the footboard, allowing seams and material blocks to define the form. The nightstand is a separate piece of furniture.
Design Intent
Fragment, joining and wholeness form the central design argument. True panel construction, seam allowance, yarn structure, fabric performance and the supporting frame must still be confirmed by physical samples.

DF confirmed production and acceptance of the approved design on 23 October 2026. Images shown are design visualisations, not photographs of the finished manufactured product.
